Scratching your head over what to buy all the people on your list this year? Want something not too expensive, but personal and meaningful at the same time? Save an industry; buy a book. The fabulous Moonrat explains why in her post on the travails of the publishing industry.

What, no pictures from Grant Park? Reporting from Grant Park?
Erm, I didn’t actually *go* to Grant Park. I decided that not being a crowd person and very much being a multi news sources person, I’d stay home with a few people and watch it on TV. We had FOX on mute on the TV (no cable), NPR on the radio (for sound) and two laptops refreshing about six or seven different sites. Heaven.
I could do a post about canvassing in Michigan City on the 4th , but I think my last election post is going to be one about politics and narrative, neatly tying together the purported theme of this blog with its digression, making it look like I had planned it all along.
I can’t complain, as I would have done the same. But it’s a pity. Oh well. Looking forward to the wrap-up post.
